For Turkey Holidays, I always suggest going around July to September. My preference is usually August as the weather is hot but bearable and the sun shines until late into the evening. I’ve been to a few resorts in Turkey over the years and I love swimming and snorkeling. The sea averages around 20 degrees Celsius in most places although some resorts see even warmer water, and the average heat of the day is around 28 degrees throughout the summer. There’s a pretty good website online that can give you the lowdown on the weather and temperatures for various resorts if you’re looking for weather in Turkey before you book your trip.

It’s been pretty warm in the UK recently but it’s always best to get abroad in my opinion if you want value for money and there are loads of websites offering cheap Turkey holidays nowadays. My preference is 11 days, as a week is never enough, and 14 days tends to sometimes mean that you’re running out of things to do, unless you’re after pure relaxation. Northern Cyprus is also nice during the summer and temperatures are similar to those in Turkey.

If you’ve got an suggestions for websites that you think are good for information on weather, hotels, resorts or flights, please feel free to post a comment on this blog. We can then all ensure we get the best possible deals and have a great holiday!!! :)

This time of year is all about family and relaxing with loved ones and being merry – well, for those of us without family to go to and a lack of a plus-one to make gatherings with friends easier, getting away for the festive period is an option.

But where to go? There are lots of choices out there, and multiple websites that offer cheap deals on flights, and if you know a person or two in a foreign city, finding accommodation can be a snap!

I’ve just decided to go to Australia for a fortnight over Christmas, get away, get some sun – and all for a very cheap price thanks to an on-line website.

Travelers can range from many different ages. Some from a young child and other to a much older crowd. For the latter, the idea of traveling may be assumed more difficult, however, there are those who do it. It is a known fact that as you get older, your endurance and strength lessen, but your determination may not. Some older people may still have a good health and find walking as easy as when they were in their thirties. This is usually because they have been traveling a lot in their life, and have therefore found the difficulties which can come with traveling easier than those who don’t.

What makes the perfect beach holiday? – I asked the lads in the office and got the responses below.

Michael – wants a beach hut on the sands that sells Stella and Hot Dogs.

James – wanted a beach full of eastern european women

Ryan – wanted factor 100 sun cream to be available for free

Jew-lie – wanted a free skull cap to protect his bald spot

David – wanted the beach to have good snorkelling reefs as he likes tropical fish

Liam – said all of the above would be great as long as it was a nudist beach and sunny as well

I recently went on a one weeks holiday to Taba Heights in Egypt.

First impressions were a little worrying the airport, which is in the hills is an ex-military army base (which looked like it was still in use by the army as there was a large presence of army officers with rivals manning the entrance)!!!

The airport simply hasnt been expanded to accomodate holidaymakers but it doesnt need to be as there is only 12 flights every week into Taba Heights airport (i found this out of a local).

Once you travel to the resort it looks like a scene from “the hills have eyes” – not what you expect on holiday! When in the resort it is fantastic!!!!!

I can’t wait until October! Why, because I have 11 nights booked at the Raffles Resort on Canouan Island in the Grenadines.

Raffles Canouan is a five star resort set in over 200 acres of landscaped gardens.
The resort consists of 156 rooms and suites, all equipped to the highest standards as you would expect from Raffles.

Facilities include four restaurants and bars, tennis courts and the largest fresh water pool in the Caribbean.
One of the main attractions of course is the Jim Fazio designed golf course which is a challenging course with unparalleled views of the beautiful bay.

Of course if the above sounds far too energetic you can always take advantage of the Raffles Amrita Spa which offers every kind of treatment you can think of. There is even a glass floor so you can watch the fish swim below as you indulge yourself.

I’m not wishing to rush away our fabulous (not) summer but roll on October!

Once you are on that sun lounger, with a drink in one hand and your favourite book in the other. Do not forget the dangers of lying in the sun for too long.

I know plenty of people who have over indulged on holiday, after lots of great food and a tipple or four!…there is a danger of falling asleep in the sun. Make sure you apply plenty of sun cream in regular intervals. In between alcoholic beverages,  I would recommend drinking plenty of water to keep you hydrated also.

If you spend some time in the sea, always remember to reapply your sun cream.  It can be beneficial to wear a hat and sun glasses as well.

Another tip is to put on an old T-shirt whilst you are on the water and then you have less chance of being burnt. Once back on the beach an umbrella can be used to make sure you have some shade during the hottest parts of the day.
